Name change & continued development of i2 software

In 2022, i2 Group has already released several new software versions of i2 Analyst's Notebook and i2 iBase, and in late December '22, they also announced a name change for the products i2 Enterprise Insight Analysis and i2 Analyst's Notebook Premium. From now on, i2 E.I.A. is called Analysis Hub, and i2 Analyst's Notebook Premium is called Analysis Studio.

The new versions no longer contain any underlying IBM components. This gives i2 Group more freedom to make future improvements in architecture, database, and other technical aspects. The available functionalities with this name change remain the same, and we expect a faster development of the mentioned software packages as a result.

Several changes have been made in the most recent version, including:

  • Users can filter external search lists and visual queries based on the text they contain for both the Desktop, Server, and Web client.
  • PostgreSQL has been added as a supported RDBMS for the Information Store and Chart Store databases. Administrators can choose which connectors and queries are available to groups of users in External Searches.
  • Connector developers can define services that accept seed records according to the semantic types of their properties.
  • Gateway schemas and chart schemas can be created from an iBase schema to support interop with iBase.
  • More options available for restyling entities, links, and processing them.

iBase 9.1.1

In addition to Analysis Hub and Analysis Studio, i2 Group has recently released a new version of iBase 9. In iBase 9.1.1, successor to iBase 9.1.0, several important improvements have been made, including:

  • Significant performance improvements are noticeable when using Visual Query.
  • Embedded *.jpeg files can now be viewed.
  • The entity strength field can now be actively used.
  • Installations in foreign languages no longer revert to the English user interface when the installation is modified.
  • *.xlsx files are now indexed.
