Introducing the DataExpert M&A team

With DataExpert's growth ambition in mind, the ranks have been strengthened with Leo Lans and Sake Willems. Together the gentlemen bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to ensure that the integration of recently acquired DetACT and DataExpert is successful and as pleasant as possible for all parties involved.

In this short interview they introduce themselves and tell more about their experience and role within DataExpert.

Who makes up the M&A team? Where do they come from and how do they get to DataExpert?

Leo Lans worked in the past with DE director Robbert Bakker. Leo brings extensive experience in the field of integration of new companies after acquisition. He led the M&A team at IBM, among others, and integrated 18 companies.

Sake Willems has worked at EY and EY-Parthenon for the past 5 years, first as a financial and then as a commercial consultant for transactions. He is now an independent transaction consultant and was introduced to DataExpert by Boer & Croon.

What do they add to the organization?

Both gentlemen are connectors and get a lot of pleasure and energy from bringing people together and helping teams and companies grow and flourish. Fun fact: Sake is a real numbers freak and can spend a whole day looking at Excel calculations without any problem.

What will customers notice about Leo and Sake's work?

Customers will not notice anything from the integration work of Leo and Sake. What customers will notice is that through the acquisition of DetACT DataExpert can offer a larger product and services portfolio to prevent even more fraud: as they say: No more fraud!!

DataExpert has the ambition to become the leading cybersecurity platform in Europe. The development of DataExpert has laid a solid foundation for this and is now working hard to achieve further growth. DataExpert's mission is to advise and support its customers with the right knowledge and products for (cyber)crime and data security. In that respect, DetACT has the same 'DNA' as DataExpert. This cultural 'fit' forms a good basis for the collaboration between DataExpert and DetACT and it is expected that the combined proposition will have a strong appeal to customers.

The growth ambition lies not only in broadening the product and services portfolio, but also in expanding the geographical area.

DataExpert is developing from a product supplier to increasingly a service organization. Through these types of targeted acquisitions and the hiring of additional staff, DataExpert acquires additional expertise to meet growing demand in an increasingly larger geographical area. Ultimately, this means that DataExpert can not only solve cybercrime, but can also help prevent and even predict it. In this way, DataExpert contributes to a safer world.
