On Monday afternoon, 13 April, we host the pre-event training session: Staying Sharp: Combining Crypto & OSINT in investigations.
Cryptocurrency investigations is a core component of modern fraud, cybercrime, and intelligence investigations. This afternoon's training is designed to help investigators stay sharp in an environment where financial crime, digital assets, and open-source intelligence increasingly intersect.
During this training session, participants gain a clear and operational understanding of cryptocurrencies and public blockchains from an investigative perspective. Instead of focusing on theory, the session demystifies the concepts investigators encounter in real cases and the practical implications of blockchain transparency and pseudonymity. From there, the investigation moves beyond the blockchain, applying OSINT techniques to pivot into domains, source code, and online platforms which are key angles when uncovering the individuals and organizations behind crypto scams.
The session is highly practical and driven by real investigative logic. By combining blockchain analysis with OSINT, participants learn how to connect on-chain activity to off-chain identities and networks. Built on the principle that knowledge shared = knowledge multiplied, the training strengthens investigative collaboration and equips participants with concrete techniques they can apply immediately.
Join Rick Harmsen and Henri Beek for an afternoon of knowledge, insights, and some nice drinks afterwards.
